Bugstiary Adventure Seeds: Gold-Digging Ant and Ant-Lion

The Bugstiary, written by me, and published by Gaming Ballistic for the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game (Powered by GURPS) is a bestiary supplement to The Nordlond Bestiary and Enemies Book, that contains 34 new arthropod monster entries for the DFRPG.

In this series of posts, I'm going to give one or two adventure seeds for each monster entry in The Bugstiary.

Planet Mercenary and DFRPG

I've gotten my copies of Planet Mercenary and the pdfs of the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game . I'm reading them, and I'll try to review both here soon.

"Pointless Slaying and Looting" Example Character

Over on the GURPS forums Kalzazz asked:
Pointless Slaying and Looting [by Sean Punch, Pyramid #3/72: Alternate Dungeons p. 4] seems pretty cool, but I've gotten lost every time I've tried to use it and just gone back to doing it the boring way

I think an example showing the process of a character being made through it would have helped (like the UT armor design article for instance)

Pyramid: Dungeon Fantasy Collected

Pyramid: Dungeon Fantasy Collected was released earlier this month. Back in September I posted my guess as to what was going to be included. Let's see what's actually included and how I did:

Dungeon Fantasy Tone - Correction and Continuation

Last post I wrote a bit about the tone of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy, and I started with a quote from the SJGames forum by kmunoz. Unfortunately I misunderstood something he said, so I'll try to rectify that today.

The Tone of GURPS Dungeon Fantasy

Since the GURPS Dungeon Fantasy line began, there have been complaints about the tone of the writing. Many readers seem to feel that the humorous, often silly, style either misrepresents or discourages what they feel the line is capable of.

Mal Tor'an Update

I've been doing some work on my GURPS DF Megadungeon, Mal Tor'an. I've finally got a side view map that I'm more or less happy with and a rough timeline. Some of what I said about it in the last post is no longer true.

I'm finding it's fairly hard for me to do what Peter Dell'Orto says here and keep it "beer-and-pretzels" as my worldbuilding urge combined with a need to subvert tropes and avoid cliches is strong. I'm trying to resist it as I can, and hopefully I can strike some kind of nice balance.

My last GURPS DF campaign was based entirely on the premise that I completely improvise every world detail in play, and even that got some depth to it. I'm bad at beer-and-pretzels. :(

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Megadungeon: Mal Tor'an

So having read + Peter V. Dell'Orto's blog Dungeon Fantastic for awhile, I've wanted to run my own GURPS Dungeon Fantasy megadungeon. I've been working on it on and off for a while and I hope it can be ready to go when I am done with Iron Gods.
